| ♕ | il Duomo, Firenze
Il Duomo in Milan, during a Carnivale celebration. SO MANY PEOPLE.
You’re not allowed to take photos in museums in Florence, but I sneakily got a picture of Michelangelo’s David. Oh my god, it is so incredible in person. I literally stood here for about half an hour just staring, and then I came back the next day when my friends who were on break in Rome came to visit and stared for another half an hour. The only thing is that it’s not the last thing in the museum, which is stupid because after I’ve seen David, I really couldn’t care less about any of the statues that followed.

Santa Croce. The steps here were really nice to sit on, even when one of the vendors out in the piazza came over to have a conversation with me and thought I was fifteen.
Florence as seen from the top of Giotto’s Campanile in il Duomo. Four hundred and fourteen steps.

The contest to design the doors of the Florence baptistery was one of my favorite things in AP Art History.
